TV show survey! Pick your five favorite TV shows (in no particular order) and answer the following questions about them. Don’t cheat!
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
2. Parks & Recreation
3. Nikita
4. The Closer
5. Dollhouse
Who is your favorite character in 2?
Leslie Knope!
Who is your least favorite character in 1?
Parker, although he was only a guest character. I love every main character equally.
What’s your favorite episode of 4?
That’s a hard question because (along with Nikita) The Closer is the only show I haven’t rewatched several times out of this bunch of shows, so it’s hard to remember every episode. But as I’m currently watching season 6, I’d say 6x04 “Layover” in which Flynn and Provenza’s double date with flight attendants results in deadly consequences and driving Brenda crazy. This ep is batshit hilarious!
What is your favorite season of 5?
That’s mean. Out of only two seasons, I’m gonna with s2, because that’s when Dollhouse definitely found its footing and knew what worked and what didn’t. Due to cancellation, it feels rushed, but on the other hand it features lots of ideas that were originally planned for following seasons. Last, but not least, it has a good, pleasing, well-written ending!
What’s your favorite scene in 3?
Pretty much every scene that involves snowflakes and Lyndsy Fonseca.
What’s your least favorite scene in 2?
I have to pass on this one.
How long have you watched 1?
Since somewhere in the middle of season 1, I think. BtVS used to air on a Saturday afternoon over here when it was in its early seasons.
How did you become interested in 3?
LOL, when I heard there’s gonna be a new Nikita show, I was, like, yeah, I’m definitely not gonna watch this shit, because a) I never really watched the original show nor the corresponding movie, b) it’s a TV show aimed at the wrong fanbase. But after seeing some teasers that quite impressed me (great cinematography, nice cast as in it has Melinda Clarke and Lyndsy Fonseca), I gave in and started watching. And soon my doubts whether Maggie Q was the right fit for the lead role vanished.
Who is your favorite actor in 4?
Kyra Sedgwick. I had never heard of her before I got into this show. BUT she’s an awesome actress and definitely deserves all the Golden Globes she got (and will get).
Which show do you prefer out of 1, 2, or 5?
Buffy, all the way!
Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?
1.
If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
LOL, as I’m a guy, it’d be weird to be Brenda, plus, she’s slightly crazy, so I’m gonna go with her better half Fritz, because he’s with the FBI! ;D
How would you kill off your favorite character in 2?
Pooh, actually I can’t imagine Leslie’s ever going to die, because she’s always so enthusiastic and focused. But given the fact that she likes to eat lots of pancakes and Sweetums’s Nutriyums aren’t helping either, she’s probably gonna die of several sugar shocks.
Give a random quote from 1.
Buffy: “I wonder where I’ve seen this before” - Where else? The place I spend most of my waking hours memorizing stuff off the sides of mausoleums. Big freaky cereal boxes of death.
Would a 3/4 work?
As if TNT & The CW would ever work together?! Besides these shows kinda have a different genre. Brenda could totally investigate Thom’s murder and would probably expose Alex.
Pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely, but strangely okay couple.
Faith/Spike, Buffy/Xander.
Overall, which show has a better cast, 3 or 5?
I like them both, but 5 wins. Eliza Dushku, Olivia Williams, Enver Gjokaj, Amy Acker, Dichen Lachman, Harry Lennix, Alan Tudyk etc. - need I say more?!
Which has better theme music, 2 or 4?
2 because a) it totally matches the friendly, open-hearted mockumentary style of the show and b) The Closer doesn’t really have a theme song.
Day 08 - A show everyone should watch
The Closer
With each TV season getting tons of new crime shows, it becomes hard to tell any difference. While The Closer might not be as visually appealing or explosive as CSI: Miami for instance, it still has a lot to offer, such as an amazing ensemble led by the stunning and extremely talented Golden Globe winner Kyra Sedgwick, great characters and dialogues as well as consistent episodes in terms of quality, as far as I can recall there hasn’t been a dull episode yet. While shows like CSI are more about using crazy, spacy tech to prove someone to be guilty, The Closer is more focused on the interrogations and interactions between characters. The show also has lots and lots of humour. So, if you like crime shows or quality shows in general, you should definitely check this one out!
